Update Patient Demographics on Requisitions

Sometimes, the contact information on a patient changes and we update that in the demographics of the patient. However, we can not change the information on requisitions already started. If the doctor happened to do a requistion for testing before the information is added (changed) in the demographics, the req has wrong information on it. Even if they just want to add another contact phone number. Currently I have to update the patients information then re-type all the information the doctor wrote onto a new req. This leaves room for errors and really only the doctor should be doing any sort of requisitions. Or sometimes, the hospital might request you fax the req again, and in the meantime the patient has moved, wants to add a cell phone number, or husbands number etc. It would be nice if there was some way to "update" the information in requisitions/forms after they are written.

    Hello,

There is a refresh function within forms that will update this information (demographics, medical history, the provider information if the assigned form providers changes, etc). Click the icon with two arrows in the toolbar in the upper-left of the form generation window; this retains choices/information already recorded, but updates any components that are pulling in information from other areas of the program.
