Prescription Quantity Should be Non-Mandatory

When working with dosages such as vials, it is not always known by the physician what quantity to include in the prescription. It is usually up to the pharmacist and what formulation, size, etc. they have on hand. Since physicians are forced to put in a quantity of even '1', they are also forced to type instructions to the pharmacist or SIG instructions to further explain why the quantity says 1 but the patient may require 3,4,5 or more vials depending on what the pharmacist has.
