medication update warnings

Is it possible to have the program pop up a message stating a medication is already on the patients file. For example, we have many patients who have long lists of medications, and it is time consuming to have to compare paper to screen. Sometimes, a patient brings in medications with the generic name, and we have it listed with the trade name, so it would be nice to give us a warning to say it is already in the program as well. I know it sounds like a tedious task, but we type much faster than we eye-scan and highlight. So this would be a huge time saver.
