I agree the preferred name should show before the legal name

Do you guys know that the only thing the preferred name does is add brackets around it. So after you type the legal name add the brackets and name yourself right after? Richard (Rick) .... at least for our systems in NS.

Also their given name should be in brackets not their prefered name as when you look as with grammer you read left to right and many will read the name outside the bracket first.

I agree. This would be very useful when adding a new patient. It is very disruptive in my workflow to have to Add a patient through F6 and then have to go into the patient demographics tab to add the "preferred name" there.
