I have also done large chart transfers/ lawyer /insurance requests this way. I save the files to PDF writer and then save to a CD or USB stick.
If you have a PDF creator loaded on your system as one of your printers, you can simply select what you want to transfer, hit print, and then select the PDF Creator as your printer. Then you will have the option as where to save it, in this case, to the CD. We manage large chart transfers like this all the time.
