I spoke to a doctor who explained that she is a Urologist and it is common that PSA results that show in Accuro are not reflective of the true value because of the way it might be affected by certain medications.
For example if a PSA comes back from LifeLabs at 3.4, it will display as 3.4 because that is the way LifeLabs sent it and Accuro displays labs the way the vendors send them.
But if the patient is on a certain medication, the value would actually double to 6.8 - She said this may be unique to Urologists.
The doctor would like if there could be a way for there to be an indicator or flag in that labs section which will prompt her to check results that may be affected by certain medications.
I suggested alternative workarounds but the problem with them is that they would require her to know when to look there.
She wants something that will prompt her to check these unique results like a result in a different colour like purple or green or a little star next to it so that she can double click and see a note that may be entered like "Results is actually 6.8 because of the medication _____________".
