We use Unite for outbound faxing only. Their server only houses a fax for 3 days and after those 3 days, faxes are cleared regardless of their status (complete or failed). We have found that when those faxes are cleared, if they failed, Accuro changes the status in the Fax Manger to "cancelled" instead of leaving it as failed. Couple concerns with this:
1) Cancelled faxes do not produce a numeric counter indicator next to the fax manager to alert you of failed faxes. If the clinic is closed for 4 days and the fax failed before everyone left, the fax will appear as cancelled instead of failed.
2) The fax manager cannot be audited so it is impossible to tell if a fax was cancelled manually and intentionally by someone within the clinic or if it was cancelled due to the server clearing it was actually never sent successfully.
I would like to see Accuro interpret the cleared faxes differently in that the status will be left as failed if it failed, have a cancelled status produce a numeric counter indicator and/or have auditing capabilities within the Fax Manager.
Thank you for posting this Idea. I agree that the fax should display as Failed not Cancelled since you didn't Cancel it. I will look into our options.
