When using a custom Prenatal Record, the informtion needs to be able to update, and the data within the form needs to be searchable. When a patient changes their address or phone number, the information in the prenatal record needs to reflect these changes and must be able to consistently pull data from other areas of the EMR.
As well, the data within the form needs to be searchable without having to enter the information in multiple areas. For example, a patients weight needs to be tracked but currently can not if it is only entered in the prenatal record. In order to track weight gain (or build a query for patients that have gained over a certain number of kg's during pregnancy) this data needs to be entered both as a lab and in the prenatal record. In addition, having searchable data would allow prenatal patients to be searched by their gestational age allowing for queries to be built regarding Rh negative patients, patients due for swabs, etc...
The forms need to have data that can be consistently updated and the data needs to be searchable.
Accuro Alberta is sadly behind in the Prenatal Program development. Using a PDF form as a means to manage prenatal patients is unacceptable when other provinces have actual software with Accuro, and other EMRs have successful prenatal care management.
I wish QHR would make this a high priority.
this is essential
If Wolfe EMR is able to do this - I am sure Accuro can too
