Generated letters not associated with DOS, but also not current date

A letter may show up  in transcription that  is random and not attached to an appointment date or accurate to the current date. With the system right now, you can assign the encounter note to the correct date. I would like it to go one step further and be able to have that correct date translate to the date the date assigned to the encounter note when generated. Right now you can  put a component in to reflect the current date or the DOS. Even a component would be lovely so I don't have to manually fix the date every time. Thanks!
