When someone is going on vacation or extended leave (eg. maternity leave), it should be possible to designate another provider as the person who is covering (eg. locum physician). When this is done, all the labs, documents and tasks that belong to the person who is away will show up in the corresponding folders of the person providing the coverage. Similarly, if someone was previously covering and leaves the office permanently, it should be possible to permanently send any incoming results to the appropriate provider.
This will be very helpful and prevent results and important tasks from being missed while the usual or ordering provider is away. Other EMR programs (eg. PS Suite) have this capability and it is extremely helpful.
Apparently there is a workaround for this. In case anyone else takes over from a retiring physician, contact Accuro and they will help you set up your EMR so the other person's labs are rerouted to you.
