messages, tasks, documents and labs are numbered according to how many are still on a partiular person's desktop. It would be good to have a "dot" or another mark beside the number to indicate if there are any items unopened

through my day I look at the this to see if any new items ( eg.a new lab or a new message) has come in. I have to remember e.g how many messages are already still on my desktop to know if a new one has come in. I would like it if there was some indication that  a new " unopened" message or task  has come in, or a new " unopened" labor document has come in
