Ability to overpay an amount in Private Billing

For example, we invoiced 25.00 and received payment from the private payer for $85.00 - I want the outstanding balance to show -60.00.  Currently my only options are:

1- adjust paid amount to billed amount

2- adjust billed amount to paid amount

3 - add credit to insurer account.

None of these options, the first two options are inaccurate and the third option doesn't work for us.
