While I know that you can see who perform edits and changes on a patient's chart, this does not fix the issue. it would be great if there was a feature that would allow admin to limit changing and deleting notes to certain permissions, unless it is your own. This will reduce incidences of staff editing other staff's notes, and will ensure a more permanent record.
This does not apply to Demographic Notes specifically, but there are ways to lock other chart items:
When providers create notes they do have the ability to "Lock" a note or form so that it cannot be edited by anyone other than themselves: EMR > Encounter Notes > Right-click note > Lock
Alternatively a provider can lock an entire chart, restricting access to it as desired: EMR > Encounter Notes > Click the green shield icon beside the patient name > Choose desired option
The green shield will become red once a chart is locked, and it will need to be unlocked with a permitted user's password in order to be accessed.
Additionally, within Role Management in Manage Security, roles can be restricted to Read Only access of Clinical Notes and Forms.
If you would like assistance with any of these workflows, please call the service desk at 1-866-729-8889; a Client Services Analyst would be happy to assist you.
