Recently many medications were added to the PRP list, including many non-opioid drugs.
PRP meds are not allowed refills, but can be part-filled if there is a total quantity and the quantity to dispense at a certain interval. When this information is missing it requires the pharmacist to contact the prescriber and the prescriber to send another Rx, as the pharmacist cannot take this information verbally. To prevent this situation is would be helpful to have Med Access alert the prescriber of the requirements when selecting a PRP drug. I'm aware there is Med Access option for entering days supply and interval, however remembering how to access these fields and when it is required is problematic and they way it prints on the Rx (font is very small and placement not obvious) makes it very easy to miss.
