combination keys to save - valid anywhere in Accuro

for those of us that are use the keyboard, we need a combination keys for all the parts of Accuro to save as you CTRL-S that is valid anywhere in a Windows environment ; it is frustrating to have to use the mouse everytime to save while you are typing.

    Hi all,

I agree that Ctrl + C (for copy) and Ctrl + V (for paste) and Ctrl + X (for cut) should be available everywhere throughout Accuro. For example, there should be no textboxes where text cannot be cut/copied/pasted, but currently in Wait List when doing an 'Edit Request' for a specific patient, I cannot copy/paste with keyboard shortcuts or even with the mouse.

As well, even for things that do not involve text, these standard keyboard shortcut commands to cut/copy/paste should be available. For example, in the Scheduler, it should be possible to move or copy patient appointments by clicking on a current patient's appointment, pressing Ctrl + X and then clicking on the new time or date and pressing Ctrl + V. Wherever possible shortcuts like this help to decrease the number of clicks necessary and increase the efficiency and user friendliness.

    Thanks,

    Jordan

Thanks for the clarification. Although there are no "Accelerators" in Encounter Notes, if you don't want to Save and Close, using CTRL + S does save your Encounter Note as you go.

Are there other areas that you would like this functionality too?

    Thank you Lauren

I know I can hit close and the I press Enter to save.

My point is that I want save for instance my work ( typing a note) and save without using the mouse and not close the note/ letter and just continue my work without the risk of losing my work for an internet outage or cytotoxic disconnect or anything else

Any power user of Microsoft Word uses Ctrl-S to save without closing the document and without using the mouse

In Microsoft environment this key combination is ubiquitous

This is what I meant. And this functionality can be very helpful not only for the note/ letter but also when one updates a patient demographic or contacts in address book and other user can consider other areas.

Same true for copy/ paste combinations - they are not always available between different areas of Accuro

    Regards

In many areas in Accuro you can hold the ALT key and find "accelerators" for example, in the Claim Details window ALT + C Saves and Closes the claim.

In other areas where there are not accelerators you can use the shortcut ALT + F4 which closes the window for you. If the window is an Encounter Note, for example, and you made a change, you can then tap 'Enter' to hit Yes you'd like to save your changes.

Could you be more specific if there are any areas in Accuro you are unable to use a shortcut to close the window now that you have this information?
