Currently once we input the Referring Physician's name in the Patient Demographics page, the system automatically updates it in Appointment Details and Claim Details.
It would be convenient to be able to change and update the Referring Physician in the Appointment Details and Claim Details page as well and have it automatically update in the Patient Demographics page.
That is how Accuro currently works:
If you update a referring Provider in the Appointment Details, this also automatically updates the Claim Details. You are then prompted if you'd like to update the "Default Referring Provider" In the Patient's demographics, so that the new Referring Provider will default on all appointments/claims moving forward.
If you update a Referring Provider in the Demographics only, this will NOT retroactively update any appointments or bills that already exist. This only populates the referring provider on new appointments and bills made after the Referring Provider is populated in Demographics.
There is a System Setting you will want to ensure is enabled to achieve the desired results. A System Admin is able to access this setting for you. Open the Accuro Menu > Users > Manage Security > System Settings > General Tab, scroll to find the setting " Prompt to Assign Appointment Referring Provider as Patient Default".
