generate letter does not use updated referring physician

if you update the referring physician during the encounter, but after a clinical note is started, when you go to generate the letter, even though the physician is updated at the top of the screen and in the demographics, the old referring physician (still comes up as the addressee).

When you click the Generate Letter button, the Accuro EMR should then look for the referring physician data field which would reflect the latest change. It would appear that the field is populated with data upon opening the clinical note, based on how this problem keeps coming up.

    Hello,

If the clinical note is associated with an appointment, then it will retain a connection to the previous referring physician, as when the referring physician is updated in the patient demographics, it does not update the referring physician associated with already or previously scheduled appointments.

If the clinical note is not associated with an appointment, then the Generated Letter will pull in the referring physician, as updated, from the patient's demographics.

If you update the referring physician from the Appointment Details, rather than the demographics screen, then you will be prompted to update the demographics simultaneously.

If you would like assistance with these workflows, please contact the service desk at 1-866-729-8889; a Client Services Analyst would be happy to help you.
