I wish when a fax fails because it's a long distance number, but the doctor didn't realize it and didn't click the box, there was a way I could click a long distance button (just like I can click a resend button), so, ,for example, I can re-fax a failed prescription. I can from the patient's emr, but it won't have a signature. Therefore a patient doesn't have to wait until I'm in the office when I'm working remotely.

This would benefit the patient, and the secretarial staff!!

agree - it does not automatically tell you that fax failed - and if admin does not routinely check, or such - we may never know until patient calls in etc

In the fax manager, you can double click in the fax number area for the failed fax and manually type in the '1' and then resend.

Then also update the address book so that future faxes to that recipient are always sent as long distance.

If you are using Unite efaxing, there is no need to worry about the long distance checkbox. Unite automatically adds the 1 to every number, behind the scenes.
