When receiving faxed referrals through "Documents", I type the health card number in the search bar to see if the patient is in the database. If there is no patient, I will add them by using the shortcut F6. However, there is no way to validate the health card using this shortcut. After inputting all the patient information, I then have to go into "Patients" and validate through the patient demographics tab. This is far too time consuming and makes more sense to be able to validate the card in the first step (F6). If the version code is invalid I could immediately annotate a note on the fax and send back to the referring physician and indicate the health card is invalid.
and validation of first name, last name and DOB based on HC interface would be great.
