The Ocean eReferral workflow currently works via CDS links to the Ocean healthmap where the form is auto-populated with pt demo, completed and sent. This process involves three clicks to get to the form uploaded if it has already been included in your sites favorite list.
When sending an eFax the PCP accesses the custom form from the electronic drawer, completes the form and sends.
We request that the CDS functionality be available in the Custom Forms Electronic door to replace the current eFax process, enabling all the benefits of an electronic referral using the same eFax workflow. It could be as simple as allowing CDS link files to appear in the Custom form list, i.e. replace the existing eFax custom form for receiver X with a CDS link file for that receiver X in Ocean. In addition to the benefits of electronic referral for both the sender and receiver, allowing CDS link files in the custom form list would also allow CDS link files to be searched which is a current deficiency in Accuro.
This workflow would better mirror the efax workflow and improve PCP workflow efficiency for sending eReferral. Telus PSS has developed and implemented this design for PCP use with positive uptake by PCPs.
