Confirming appointments

My dentist office has a system where a week or two days before my appointment it sends me a text message reminder in regards to my appointment. Once I read the text I would then have to reply with "c" to confirm this or simply call the office if a had to cancel/or reschedule. I thought something like this would work fabulous to cut down on NO SHOWS.

A text message would eliminate the chance for mistakes in verbal communication.
