Reply Button for Tasks Instead of New Conversation Button

Request from a user that when in their Home screen viewing their tasks, they would like a "reply" button and/or a "reply all" button rather than a "New Conversation" button. They find there are too many clicks to be able to send a reply to a task and find that they may forget to double-click on the task and select a recipient and instead just complete it by mistake. The user requested that they would like to hit "reply", type the message in and then hit "ok" and the message would be sent back to whomever sent it (individual or group) as well as removing it from their task list.

    Yes! I agree with Tara C - Keep the labels consistent on how to reply. We have to often explain that "New Conversation" and "Reply" are the same. Thank you!

    I would prefer to see REPLY instead if New conversation. I find it very confusing for providers and new staff....

    A reply would give an option to send the conversation back to someone with notes on the task history. Much better than the task - complete - task back that our clinic does...

    I think that Mail serves a different purpose than Tasks--it is the communication within a group of HCP and should be available . I agree that mail should not have patients attached to it. Also --if a task requires clarification or a response then there should be a reply button --not a "new conversation tab with having to again choose the recipient--agree too many clicks.

    I find it discouraging when you the task rely comes as a message. it should automatically be a task. Too much room for loosing track of a task when it's a message because not all employees can see it.

    i find it very difficult when you send a task and they hit reply and it goes as a message. one they do that then you can't generate notes. If you reply to a task it to automatically stay as a task.

    A comment from one of the Merged Ideas explains how to ensure recipients are notified by task conversation replies:

    As long as you make sure that you reply to the recipient, or add recipients to the conversation, they will get a message in their inbox, linked to the task. If you drop a response onto the Task without picking a recipient, then it is just a note about the task, (like "Message Left") but will not go into anyone's inbox.

    There should only be one system for messages within an office.

    The "Task and Mail" systems cause way too much duplication, and make it difficult to follow conversations.

    Agree! Most frustrating for us is tasks to groups of users.  One user completes the task and it is no longer available for the rest of the group.

    Another suggestion to help reduce clicks for new conversations might be to add a default recipient for conversations. Right now, you can add default recipients for tasks and mail messages. If you could add a default recipient for conversations, this should reduce clicks and prevent a user from ever forgetting to include a recipient on the conversation reply.

    The other thing that makes it hard to follow a task is that it does not show up as "Unread" when it is replied to.  I often have 50+ tasks and the reply looks like it came from me and is dated the original date, so it doesn't pop to the top of the list.  It would be great if the task was bolded again.

    Yes, and it would very beneficial if there was a name date and time stamp on the reply, showing when the reply was sent and by whom. Sometimes when the tasks go back and forth a few times, it can be hard to track who said what.

    This is an essential change.  It is so easy to reply to a task and forget to change the user to find that it is still in your inbox at the end of the day and you haven't seen that you forgot to readdress it.  It is intuitive that when you open a task the default will be to reply to the sender.
