Ontario antenatal record interface needs significant improvement!
The biggest problem is the fact that people looking at the printed antenatal record in the hospital chart are not accustomed to seeing an appendix (i.e. all the relevant information is generally on antenatal 1 and 2). We need to minimize use of the appendix. The following is a list of improvements in functionality that would be very helpful: 1. Whenever an item is checked 'yes' in the medical history tab, it brings up a pop-up window for adding comments. These comments print in the appendix rather than the box at the bottom of the antenatal 1. Please eliminate the pop-up window and have users type comments in the comments box which actually does print to the bottom of antenatal 1. 2. The antibody screen is not able to map the lab result properly. 3. There needs to be room to add other lab tests such as TSH, ferritin, hemoglobin eletrophoresis, parvovirus immunity 4. The text comments for each antenatal visit only allows a very small number of characters to appear in the printed antenatal 2. Anything beyond about 25 characters causes the whole text comment to appear in the appendix. We need to allow much longer comments to print on the antenatal 2. Longer comments should print on 2 lines and push the next entry down a line. 5. The ultrasound result column needs to allow much longer comments to print on the antenatal 2 rather than the appendix 6. Every time a discussion topic is checked, a pop-up window appears for typing in comments. This is annoying and unnecessary. 7. The additional lab investigations section is completely unusable because of problems with lab mapping. It cannot pull any results from the patient's record but rather requires the user to manually enter new lab results. 8. There needs to be an easy was to fax the antenatal record out the virtual chart (not just as an attachment to a generated note).
