This should not be a suggestion at this point but a function from the very beginning of setting up an EMR. Think about all the re referrals we receive. The patient demographics change. However you can not change the demographics in the patient information field without changing screens from the documents section You can add a new patient and have a new patient screen side by side to enter information, but you can not do the same if receiving a re-referral and try to update the demographics. THIS IS RATHER SURPRISING AS THIS I WOULD OF THOUGHT would have been done in the early stages of building a EMR system prior to selling to customers.
Think about it.
I agree! I'm using Accuro in British Columbia and apparently theres function keys available in ON for this but not in BC. It would make life so much easier if we could edit Patient Demographic's from the document screen.
There are actually a couple ways you could update a patient's demographics from the Documents section.
If you use the shortcut F1 (to put your cursor in the Search field) then tap Alt + Enter on your keyboard you will open the Edit Patient window. This is very similar to adding a new patient with F6 but you are editing an existing patient.
If you hold ALT on your keyboard and click on the Patients section along the Navigation bar you will open the Patient Demographics in it's own independent window.
With this option, since the new window behaves independently of the main Accuro window where you are looking at documents, you may need to search for the patient to edit if you choose to keep it open while working.
