Date component in Form Editor - make it more flexible

In the History of Problems band, it is possible to indicate only the year, or year and month that a diagnosis was made. However, when using a form built using the date component in the Form Editor, it is impossible to choose only the year, or month and year (if the day and month are deleted, the date defaults to January 1 of whatever year was chosen). It would be wonderful to have this flexibility, as it would then extend greater flexibility and accuracy to input information into created forms. For example, a diagnosis may have been made ten years ago, and the actual date is lost in the mists of time...but to put an inaccurate date (January 1) is not acceptable, nor is no date.
