Messaging should be instantly opened on top of current screen when it is 'sent'. Not when recipient is 'chosen'.. the lag usually causes the msg to be DELAYED, or even MISSED, when an urgent reply is required. The conversation is often times CLOSED by the recipient before a msg is sent.
Yes! Chat could be greatly improved:
1. As above, message should only pop up once Send is hit.
2. Chat message should go to ALL computers a user is logged into (we often have docs logged in to more than one machine, so sending a very urgent Chat is hit and miss - cause you don't know if they will be at that computer!)
3. User A and User B are having a chat. User A closes the window on their machine. User B should still be able to type more of a message and have the window pop back up on User A.
Strongly suggest Accuro take a look at the instant messaging feature in Practice Solutions. It is much more functional, much less chance of delayed or missed messages as it utilizes all of the above ideas.
