When billing multiple hospital, office, or phone call visits in a day, the Encounter number has to increase per visit and therefore procedure in a claim. It would be beneficial for the Enc # to pull from the latest sub-procedure opposed to pulling from the main procedure. Currently, If your main procedure has an Enc of 1, and your 4th procedure has an Enc of 2, if your 5th procedure needs an encounter of 2 or 3, it will default to whatever the main procedure has (1), instead of the last Enc # used (2).
Additionally, in some circumstances, clinics have specific codes that they may bill with a preset number of Calls or Encounters. The current functionality only allows Macros to have the Calls modified for the Macro, while the Enc is set to always default at 1.
If you change the Main Procedure in Claim Details to an Enc of say 3, every procedure you add subsequently will pull their Enc # from the Main Procedure in the Claim, in this case, now 3, that can be modified by each Procedure line, after the fact.
For times when Clinics know certain procedures will have a set Enc # they would like the ability to set those with appropriately named Macros to identify and add a different Enc # to the Billing Macro they are using, instead of always having to manually edit the Enc number for each Procedure and Claim, each time.
Thank you.
