I think it would be very practical to have the option to create an appointment directly from a new note screen. Its a little cumbersome to write the note (including date/time of follow up), close the note, open the scheduler, create an appointment, and then write a description/reason for follow up.
A feature at the bottom of the note screen (just below "Gen. Letter" // "M-> F" // "Save As" etc.) to "Create Appointment" and have it added to the scheduler would be helpful and allow for better follow up (we manage/monitor and provide follow up for acute issues and manage drug therapies accordingly). Even if the button just brought up the existing window that pops up when you "Create Appointment" on the scheduler, that would be great.
While we collect more feedback for this request, I wanted to propose an alternative workflow that might help in this situation.
You can keep your note open, head back to the main Accuro window and open the Scheduler in a brand new window. Keeping the EMR open for the current patient still.
Hold ALT and click on the Scheduler (or any section along the Accuro Navigation Bar) to open the Schedule in it's own independent window.
You can even use windows shortcuts to snap both the note you are working on and the schedule to split your screen. Hold the windows key on your keyboard and the arrow left or right to snap the selected window to either side respectively.
