The prescription search should be made so that you can find medications easier and not have to scroll so much.
Here are some tips that might help to narrow down results with the current functionality:
after typing in "salicylic acid" press the ENTER key on your keyboard to search, you don't have to click the search button
there are 4 categories when searching drugs: Generic, Formulation, Manufactured and Natural Health Product - double click on any of these headings to expand or contract the list
for instance, if you don't have to look at all 300 formulations for salicylic acid, double click on Formulation and the list will shrink
try double clicking to expand Generic this should give a more concise list of the generic formulations of salicylic acid available, scroll down the alphabetical list
then, double click on the exact generic formula you wish to use, ex. salicylic acid. Now you get a list of only 79 formulations you can prescribe vs the original 300+
You’re welcome.
The last one I tried was salicylic acid. I wanted to prescribe an
ointment/cream. The list was huge and included a lot of salicylic acid
flavours.
Moreover, the search does not behave like e.g. in a google search, where
you get suggestions that change the more letters/words you type. Here you
have to finish and then hit search, then repeat if you make changes.
Thank you for your feedback. Do you have any examples of prescriptions that have been difficult to search for?
