When adding documents to the patient's chart: A popup stating "Are you sure you want to file this document?" would avoid physicians not getting important documents sent to their inbox & the potential for compromising patient care.
I am away from the office and will be returning on Monday, May 9th .
Kindest regards,

Ability to move the file document button further down the page or have the ability to hide it. On a laptop (which most of us use) the "send to provider" button is hidden as you have to scroll further down to hit the right button - accuro interface not user friendly in that respect. Urgent and emergency lab/ultrasound/documents are being filed by accident instead of sent to provider and follow up for clients is not happening in a timely way if this mistake occurs. We have tired midwives filing these documents and admin is super busy. Errors filing documents prior to a midwife viewing and documenting the result could be detrimental to the health of client and newborn.
If this were implemented there should be the ability to turn off this warning under preferences. During the transition from paper to Accuro, there are a lot of things to file, and if that warning popped up all the time, it would be a super nuisance.
I respectful request that this not get implemented unless it is a feature that can be enabled or not for each instance. Adding a pop-up will significantly increase time in filing documents.
I agree with Brittany about not adding pop ups. We have 32 physicians & a LOT of faxes every day. We did have another document "filed" instead of "sent to provider" again today so hopefully this fix will be done soon.
Please NO- do you know how long it would take to file the 100s of faxes our clinic gets if there was a pop up every time?! Maybe offer it as an option for clinics that want to have it, but the way it is set up now is most efficient & user friendly when you deal with great numbers of faxes and providers
Making the File Document harder to access could help. You could make an option to "hide" the File Document in the user settings. Or even move it to the "Option button" right in the Document screen. Then we would have to use an extra step to use the file request and it would feel more certain that a physician is not to review that info.
Hi Alison, I agree with Kristy - the best one is where you just have "send to provider" option by itself. I still say if it could have a different color or be bigger than the file document button that may have some benefit. I don't know about the report author - first and last name. We don't have that on our system at all and we definitely wouldn't use it. Thanks!
Hi Alison, Sorry, I meant the first one - where you have just the Send to Provider option by itself.
Hi Alison, I like the one that you have Send to Provider directly under the description. Thank you!
Ideally, the checkbox for Batch Mode and the button for options should be moved to the very bottom of the column. Otherwise, when tabbing from field to field, there are two extra unnecessary tabs to get to the "Send to Provider" button.

I really like the top Mock-up with the send to provider toggle right up top and distinctly different from the file toggle.
Sorry Alison, I cannot see the images that I assume were attached.

People may not always believe what you say,
But they will always believe what you do.
Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to add additional context. If you have some time, could I ask you to have a look at the attached mock-ups and give me your thoughts?
Hi Alison,
Myself & another user have replied to this in IdeaSpace.
Thank you.

Hi Alison,
I agree with Judy Cornellier - the buttons are too close together & both grey. I think maybe they should also be reversed - have the" Send to Provider" above the "File Document" button. The reasoning for this is is that it would be far better to send something to the provider that the user could go in & review rather than it being filed & no one knowing about it.
Thank you!
Kristy
Hi Alison,
I understand your concern about this idea. Pop ups do tend to drive us all a little crazy and they start to get ignored when there are too many.
I do believe that this error can occur because often times the staff member who is sending the documents to the doctors is also filing documents. You question if the file document and send to providers buttons are too close together. They are both grey and you do have to look to find which one you want at least I do, because I dont do the filing all the time as a part of my regular job. It is possible that if the send to provider button was larger or highlighted that it would stand out and this may be of some help. Unfortunately this is human error and sometimes those issues are hard to prevent. I believe that some sort of double check is required. This could cause huge legal ramifications if something is accidentally missed as well as having devastating consequences for a patient.
Thank you for looking into this idea as originally suggested by Kristy @ Lakeside.
Have a great day!
Judy

The objective would be to avoid having a document disappear without adequate evaluation by the physician. I agree that an extra click is not really the answer but this problem is real and has the potential of having a crucial bit of information buried in the chart before suitable intervention is undertaken. I would suggest making these two choices clearly different - separated by adequate space to force deliberate movement and visually different icons that have a clear and unambiguous meaning consistent throughout the program.
Hi there,
Thank you for your submission. I can see where this would be a concern for patient safety.
One piece of feedback that we've heard consistently is that frequently users become either desensitized to and/or frustrated by pop-ups that interrupt their workflows. My worry upfront would be that clicking <OK> would eventually become muscle memory, circling us back to the same problem, and especially because it is a repetitive task. Plus injecting a pop-up here would mean an additional click for every document that's filed instead of sent to an inbox, inevitably slowing users down.
What I think I would like to understand better, is why this unintentionally happens. Why does the File button get clicked instead of the Send to Provider button? Is it the proximity to the provider selection (e.g. closer to click)? Muscle memory?
For those voting and commenting I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Thank you!
I vote for this!!!
