Healthmail allows Providers to start mail to patx. Patx can only start mail to a Provider by using a past date open thread. In VC this email to the Provider ,about a new issue, is filed under the old mail date. Hence a new clinical problem can appear in the chart completely out of sequence and the record keeping is actually erroneous by date and topic. This makes it difficult to understand the medical record, to understand actions / orders , Rx that don't have a currently dated note to align to. Further, it impairs the ability to generate an actual letter of care for a date sequence. I do not think this would pass a college audit by a reviewer who was hip to the issue.
Please - reconsider allowing patx to start a mail to a Provider
and/ or
file new dated threads separate from post dated threads and topics.
and /or
* file new threads , by date, as a Healthmail in Encounter Notes*** - this then allows the optimal reflection of care in the medical record
