BILLING

BILLING SHOULD BE EASY. SO I THINK YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE SERVICE DATE WHILE BILLING, INSTEAD OF HAVING TO TYPE THE PATIENTS NAME IN AGAIN AND ADD A DIFFERENT PROCEDURE WITH A DIFFERENT DAY, ABLE COULD DO IT

I agree with my colleagues. This is not an issue with office billings as typically it's only 1 procedure code per service date. But in hospital, you could see a patient daily for many days, and there are different procedure codes each day, and we have to bill them all in SEPARATE claims, rather than continuing all the info into 1 claim. What people are trying to say is we should be able to BILL SEVERAL DAYS of service IN 1 CLAIM (particularly for hospital admissions), rather than needing to create a new claim for every day. It is annoyingly time consuming.

This would be great. When entering billing for a patient on multiple consecutive days like a hospital stay, it would be so much faster to not have to type the patient to name again to change the date and enter a new bill for that patient.

    Hi,
I am not sure what triggered this discussion thread to show up now. Perhaps you finally came to it in a list of items to be addressed...
There is some detail missing here and not well represented by the recorder(s).
I would appreciate a phone call discussion to be clear that you understand the billing limitations with QHR are an issue.

I find this super frustrating as well. One new bill should do the whole hospital stay. Every day is a different procedure code. Copy of a claim is also more time consuming then it needs to be and it doesn’t even copy the Most relevant information like admission date.

I’m not sure if I understand the question. Mostly I do hospital Billings / 1 week at a time and don’t have to keep re- typing the patient’s name again and again. Just hit “save and new” And hit enter twice.

Thank you for the clarification, Lori; I wanted to make sure I had a clear understanding of the workflow.

She is saying that it is annoying to have to keep typing the patient's name in when you have multiple billing days for the same patient. For example if a patient is seen at the hospital for multiple days, then you have to keep typing the patient's name in to add a new billing date. This is super annoying and I agree as well! We should be working smarter NOT harder!

    Hello,

Are you referring to the Date of Service associated with claims that are automatically created from scheduled appointments? Or when creating brand new bills?

I am not sure if I understand your concern correctly but If you use control + B on your keyboard and you are in patient's chart, you can add in a procedure code and change the service date.

You do not have to type in the patient's name in the search bar again, if you are already in their chart.
