Ability to see who sent a document to provider

Providers would like the ability to easily see who sent a document to them. Currently they receive documents in the documents folder, but are unable to see who it was from. If the provider has a question about this document and wants to speak to the person that sent it to them, they need to look in the Audit Logs. In a paper chart clinic, the document would be initialed by the person that gave it to the doctor, providing a visible Audit Trail.

As mentioned, you can view the user who sent a document to the provider through the Audit Logs.

For those who have permission, Audit Logs can be accessed easily through the Virtual Chart if you right-click on the document and choose View Log.

Until there is an easier way to view this information you could build a protocol into your practice for those filing documents that they type their initials, etc into the Description of the Document. You can use macros in this field too if that helps to speed up their entry.
