When reviewing documents I often need to refer back to lab s and often that means having to eave the screen I am on and going back to the EMR. For instance if a pharmacy faxes in a script for a thyroid medication or BP med, I have to go back to the EMR (out of documents) to get to the lab tab to see when the last TSH was, or the last creat. If the lab tab was available right there it saves changing screens twice!
You can open the EMR section without leaving your Documents inbox to view patient labs by using the ALT+Click shortcut.
Hold ALT and click on the EMR section along the navigation bar. This opens the entire EMR in another window. You can then click into the Encounter Notes to view the labs section.
If you are reviewing labs and want to see all labs for the patient. Click the View Lab Summary button in the bottom right of the Labs preview. (see screen shot)
