A physician recieves lab results in their Inbox from patients they have seen in another location before they are registered as a patient in their Accuro EMR. (example - seen by the physician in a hospital ambulatory clinic where they are then referred to the physician's private office for treatment and so will become a patient). The physician knows that the patient is not in the Accuro EMR but will be.
Presently, when reviewing
What would be a time saver is if there was an option to generate a skeleton chart from the demographics sent with the lab results.
Since this closely matches the Accuro existing option to Update accuro demographics with lab demographics from the LOCATE Patient button, could this translate into an option to auto generate a chart ? Could the option be expanded to update existing or to create new?
Then the physician could select this option from locate patient, the chart would be created , then the physician has the ability to task his staff , mark the lab as reviewed.... and move on to the next patient result/.
This can save time ...the big benefit, and also prevent data entry errors.
When a lab is received for a patient that does not exist in Accuro, it appears in the Provider's Lab inbox as an Unmatched patient.
Select the unmatched patient lab, and click the 'Locate Patient' button on the far right of the screen.
In the window, you can either search for an existing patient in case the demographics from the lab do not match identically to the Accuro patient. Or, there is a button to add a New Patient.
When you select the 'New Patient' button all demographics from the lab are copied into the patient record in Accuro, and a chart is created.
Once the patient is added, click the 'Tasks' button in the middle of the screen to now create a task for this patient.
