We will sometimes encounter a situation where we are in a patient's chart, and want to book an appointment, but have clicked elsewhere on the screen (to remove an appointment suggestion or to move another appointment with no name such as lunch, etc) and so we don't realize that we have disconnected from the patient chart. Then we proceed to book the appointment and don't notice there is no name on it.
This is highly detrimental when we don't know which patient the booking is for, the patient does not get a reminder of their appointment, and , worse yet, in the case of a phone call due to Covid, the doctor doesn't know whom to call.
It would be very helpful to be warned if we are about to schedule an appointment without a patient name, similar to the pop-up we currently get when removing a patient name from an appointment, which asks us "are you sure" before proceeding. (eg. "You are about to schedule an appointment with no patient name, are you sure?")
This small detail would alleviate disastrous consequences, and it looks like you already have the functionality in place to do this.
