Tracking specialist referrals

Need a database to track specialist referrals. Very handy feature in our previous EMR. One can enter things as they become available like when the letter was sent, who it was sent to, appointment date, when consultation note came in to complete the process.

    Admin response

The Outstanding Requisitions, Referrals and Orders (ORRO) report was added to easily track outgoing letters to specialists and requisitions for tests.

Letters can be automatically added to the ORRO report by ensuring the "Referral Letter" checkbox is selected and 'New Referral Order' in the dropdown when sending a letter.

The ORRO report allows the user to track who the letter went to, and update any information about the scheduled appointment in a variety of free text and manageable fields.

There is even an Office Preference (Manage Security > Offices > Preferences) that a System Admin can enable that defaults all letters to be Referral Letters

Preferably, automatically instead of the present user dependent entry system.
