The expiry dates of health cards in Saskatchewan are not checked at source, that is at MSB, but in Accuro local database. This expiry date checking method is causing us a lot of trouble, since in many cases the expiry dates recorded in our Accuro are not up to date, as we have no way of being in sync with the MSB. That is, often a card is marked as expired by Accuro, when in reality it is not expired. As a result, many valid claims do no got through on submission stage due to false HC expiry date recorded in Accuro. In addition, this feature is also redundant, because MSB is checking the expiry dates when processing bills. Manually replacing the expiry dates in all records with blanks is not an option due to large quantity of them. I am sure many other clinics have the same problem. So my suggestion:
Supress health card expiry date checking in Saskatchewan on submission of bills, until "dynamic checking", that is checking at MSB is implemented.
