All specialists see patients on a referral basis. GP refers for specialist opinion, specialist reports back to GP and often books follow up appointment to manage care. MSP requires that a referral be submitted by the referring doctor every 6 months for continuing care. It would be incredibly helpful if a letter to GP requesting a "no charge referral" could be generated directly from the scheduler with the upcoming appointment date, diagnostic code etc. Thereby hopefully having that "no charge referral" in place prior to upcoming appointment
