For example, if I am given a task to have a patient return to clinic for MRI results, I will call that patient and may end up leaving a voicemail. The task is not complete because the patient has not yet returned the call so it remains in my task list, however I do not have a way of recording that I contacted the patient for future reference. Also, say I called the patient multiple times with no response, I would like to reply to the assignor of the task informing them of this, and that would therefore be recorded in the patient’s chart. Currently the only option is to mark the task as complete so it doesn’t stay active and record this information separately in the “notes” section. It’s not very efficient.
