As a consult, i get referrals from family and other docs. Sometimes, i get the same patient referred by different doctors years or even decades apart. When my MOA receives the new referral, she updates the Patient Demographics with the name of current GP and current referring doctor. However, this fails to update in other parts of Accuro. So when I try to bill, the referring MD listed there is the original one from years earlier, who may have retired, leading to rejected billings. In addition, when i dictate a letter, it autopopulates to send back to the referring doc - but not the NEW referring doc. Always the original one. Sometimes letters get sent to historical doctors and they write back saying "no longer my patient".
THe only way around this currenlty is the cumbersome process of opening the appointment in scheduler, and editting the referring doctor there. This is at least 15 clicks and requires searching for the new doctor's name (again - since it has already been updated in patient demographics).
I have been waiting 10 years for this defect to be resolved, but to no avail.
